Okay, I’ll say it: Athens is a criminally underrated destination city. The Greek capital doesn’t get the same attention from history buffs as Rome or Florence, despite its jaw-dropping ancient sites like the Acropolis and Theater of Dionysus. And for some reason, Athens doesn’t inspire the same fashion fandom as Paris or London’s shopping districts, even though it’s chock-full of inspiring boutiques and vintage treasure troves. Even the food was better than my already sky-high expectations: I had the best salt-cooked fish of my life at Estiatorio Milos (and got some artisanal sea salt to take home with me).
